cautiously good news
Looks like Whisper had an infection at the injury site; we're treating that very aggressively, and she's already moving better, but it's going to be touch and go for a couple of days. Keep the good thoughts going, that the antibiotics do their stuff without upsetting her stomach, please.
Whisper's leg abscessed overnight. Thankfully she was already scheduled for a followup with the vet this morning, and he didn't get diverted to another call. He lanced it-- once again our horse has made the barn look like a crime scene. She's definitely moving better now; we've taken her for two 10 minute walks today, which is far more than she could do yesterday. Tonight's walk almost didn't happen-- she spooked herself stepping over the threshold of her stall, and it took three people and a bucket of grain to get her out.
Kid is much much better, now that there's reason for cautious hope, and evidence of progress.
