Jan. 5th, 2003 11:12 pmMy substitute last week was a pianist, since I couldn’t find an organist to fill in for me. I call such occasions “Organist Appreciation Sundays.” Seems to have worked; though I’ve been assured the pianist did a fine job, I got far more compliments than usual this morning, on music that really wasn’t especially wonderful.
On the other hand, today was “Secretary Appreciation Sunday.” Gail missed Thursday and Friday due to a death in her family, so the bulletin was assembled and printed by volunteers. It was full of typos, the lyrics to one song carried across a page-turn, the layout was very awkward.. Gail will be getting the extra compliments this week!
Now if I can just persuade them that Gail needs a part-time assistant to train to fill in for her... the kidlet would be perfect!
