Nature, even in winter
Feb. 8th, 2003 08:02 pmTook a family walk around the house today-- more exercise than it sounds, in around 8 inches of snow. We had great fun checking out the various prints in the snow. Identified dog, cat, raccoon, rabbit; several tracks of smaller prints which are presumably various rodents. For a moment we thought there were deer tracks, until we followed the track to where it went under a very low bush; then we realized it was a particularly small bunny.
Later in the day, we had a new visitor at the window bird feeder-- a Carolina Wren, further north than its usual territory, especially for winter.
Other than that, nice quiet day. Practiced (not as solid as I’d like to be for tomorrow, but okay); horse continues to improve; cooked yummy biryani for dinner; now watching Enterprise and West Wing on tape.
