Beginning to think our church's music program is cursed-- there was a power outage during church today. It was very brief, though; we had all just lept into action to remove the synth so I could get to the real piano when the lights came back on. (Though of course I'd have been just as happy to switch to the real piano, personally!)

Church pics today-- two shots of the lovely early 1900s church where I'm practicing until my organ is repaired (Peace Temple, the host church for my tutoring program); and two of the kidlet's latest altar design, for Pentecost this morning.

Today was Pentecost, for Christians. The passage that's central to the day says many Jews were in Jerusalem to celebrate Pentecost, and my study Bibles indicate it was a Jewish celebration, 50 days after Passover, remembering God giving the Law to Moses.

Is it still celebrated now? If so, how?

Thanks.
