suggestions?
Jul. 29th, 2004 02:11 pmI'll be placing an Amazon order today....
If we were shopping together in a mega-book-CD store, what would you try to get me interested in? Share something you like with me. Maybe I'll indulge in something new thanks to you! Anything goes, honestly... but my reading tends to science fiction, fantasy, mystery (of the less violent kind) and religion/theology; music to folk/filk, classical (especially vocal and organ), new age, international.
In return, I think many people on my reading list would enjoy The Runaway Quilt by Jennifer Chiaverini. It's one of a series about a group of women running a quilting school/resort-- but goes way beyond the crafty woman's escape fiction, exploring slavery and the Underground Railroad, race, attitudes towards ancestors. The rest of the series are good reads, but this was one of those that made me bitterly resent anything that got in the way of finishing it right away! (Warning, though.. if you're a crafter, these will make you NEED to pick up your craft projects!)
