1000 miles in 4 days-- most of the driving in 3. It's good to be home. Phoned ahead, so hubby arrived with hot carryout food minutes after we pulled in. Cats are going wild welcoming us back.
I'm exhausted, and of course parts of the trip were discouraging-- but other parts were very good, and it was nice just to be away for a few days.
Arrived home to find a third chrysalis, which hubby says is new today. Caterpillar #4 is enormous, will probably head up tomorrow. #5 is still quite small, a week or so from transformation. Behind the cut tag you'll find a picture of chrysalis #2, taken the morning we left-- it clearly shows the 'golden crown' that gives the beasties their name.
Edit-- #4 is on the roof, but not dangling yet. Silly #5 is also on the roof, despite being far too small, but will most likely come back down for fresh food.
