The kidlet just voted in her first Presidential election. It's fun watching her get interested in the process.
We waited in line about 10 minutes. Poll workers told us the line has been that long or longer since the moment they opened the doors. There was some tension when one person's name couldn't be found on the rolls, but provisional ballots are not new here; the poll worker explained about provisional voting while continuing to check the rolls. In the brief silence after this exchange, we all clearly heard another worker giving voting instructions: ".... and be sure to fill in your oval completely...." A portly man near me grinned, patted his belly and said "I fill my oval in pretty thoroughly!" which got a laugh all around.
And now we wait.
