spring, maybe?
Mar. 11th, 2005 10:55 amIt's snowing yet again.. but the cardinals have started courting behavior.
During the winter, males and females show up at the feeders independently. During courting and mating seasons, the males become very protective-- they check out the feeder first, and then keep watch while the female eats. They'll even leave the female concealed and carry seed to her, feeding her mouth to mouth. It's fun to watch.
