I've spend 3 hours this morning watching birds outside my window (and for part of that time, having a delightful IM conversation with
cjsherwood). After a month of very few birds, today the action has been nonstop. I've had one species that I've seen locally but never attracted to my own feeders before, and another that I haven't seen in Vermont (and in fact Sibley says it's slightly out of range here). Fun! And today counts double-- Backyard Bird Count and Project FeederWatch (yes, the protocols say it's okay to record the same day in both counts).
