No, it's not that bad... I'm just trying to keep it all from getting that bad.

Mother-in-law is a very low maintenance guest; helpful, easy to entertain, naps and goes to bed early so we get family time and private time. Even so, she's been around most of the time for 4 full days now, and I've had to tailor my days around her, and I'm a bit worn out.

So I've presented various options for the weekend to all involved, and then left to let them sort things out. Felix has joined me in the basement, where it's cool and quiet. If no one comes down soon to tell me what they've worked out, I'll go shower.

We went to the Vermont Normal Rockwell museum today-- fun and interesting, though not really worth the price. I had no idea just how much art he produced; it's amazing! Nor was I aware that he did many portraits for magazine covers in the 1960s. The drive was lovely, though color isn't at peak yet.

The birdfeeders continue to be fun. We were visited by a wren this morning; haven't checked which type yet. Chickadees come up even while the four up us are eating dinner just a few feet away.

Bless his heart, it sounds like hubby may take his mother out for a few hours tomorrow, so that the kidlet and I can do other stuff.

Someone on my list recommended the book Archangel by Sheron Shinn-- thank you, it was a delightful read! A very pleasant change after A Meeting at Corvallis by S.M. Stirling, which is fascinating and meatier but gives a whole new meaning to the words "slow paced."
