Lifebird, kinda, oddly enough. It's generally said that house finches and purple finches can be hard to tell apart-- house finches can have some red, purple finches can be brownish. There were certainly times when I thought I had purple finches rather than house finches at the feeders. But this is the first time that I've been sure without question that I had a purple finch. Isn't it gorgeous?
