Last month the adult son of a member, a young man who had grown up in our church, died. He was an environmental activist, a "green" consultant who helped businesses figure out how to reduce their environmental impact (and save money doing so).
Someone suggested that in his honor, we should buy EcoPalms
this year for Palm Sunday-- palms that are grown and harvested in an ecologically and socially sustainable way (fair trade standards). They arrived today, and I'm delighted to see that they are full leaves, not the silly little single fronds many churches get. These will actually be fun to wave around!
