[livejournal.com profile] suetrys said she wanted bread machine recipes that made small loaves. I've just loaded my machine with my favorite Honey Oatmeal bread, which can be made in 1 pound or 1 1/2 pound sizes. You can use old fashioned or quick cooking oats but not instant. Put ingredients in your bread pan in the order your machine calls for.

1 pound loaf

5 1/2 ounces water
2 TBS honey
1 1/2 cups flour
2/3 cup oats
1 TBS dry milk (optional)
3/4 tsp salt
1 TBS butter or margarine
1 1/2 tsp yeast OR 1 tsp bread machine yeast or fast rise yeast

1 1/2 pound loaf

7 1/2 ounces water
3 TBS honey
2 cups flour
1 cup oats
1 1/2 TBS dry milk (optional)
1 1/4 tsp salt
1 1/2 TBS butter or margarine
2 tsp yeast OR 1 1/2 tsp bread machine yeast or fast rise yeast

band of angels

Yesterday we took down Christmas decorations and rearranged knickknacks around the house. My daughter set up this band of musical angels on our hearth. Two were made by my high school best friend/former sister in law, and one was a gift from my friend the trumpeter in Michigan (bet you can guess which one was hers!).
