I stopped at Michael's today to buy a tote for the kid's cake decorating stuff. They had the tote-- and also a partially prefilled version which, with coupon, was a bargain, so I got that. It was fun to watch her bounce while she looked at all the fun stuff!

Once again I couldn't get into the local church this morning, so I went to Burlington to practice. Treated myself to lunch out and a haircut. I had a delightful waitress who took the time to help me get a good dairy-free lunch despite the fact that it was very busy. I tipped well, of course.
----
Yesterday my subconscious got involved in my music planning. I was wrestling with how to fit a bunch of bold, upbeat pieces together, and which of them to play as offertory. Suddenly I thought, or heard a voice, or something, "why not play something more contemplative for offertory?" Dug through my bag, found two such pieces, picked one, and then all those other pieces fell into place. Today I chose organ descants to go with two hymns, and I'll do solo trumpet verses on one of those hymsn and one other, so it should be a fairly impressive day. It's so fun to play for a congregation musical enough to be comfy with descants and free harmonizations.
----
February always gives me spring fever-- there are these days when the light looks like spring, even though there's still snow on the ground. And birds are starting to return already.
----
We'll be trying something new this weekend-- moose meatloaf! A friend at church gave me the meat and the recipe. Should be fun!
