I usually don't mind being alone, but last night I was alone all evening, and it's just now starting to get dark early, and somehow that really got to me. Also, the church admin is on vacation, so when I practice this week I'll mostly be alone in the building (even if pastor's there, his office is at the far end of the building, 4 sets of doors away). Yuck.

Kid has a boyfriend. Still. This is starting to look pretty serious. She's very relaxed and comfortable around him, and he absolutely radiates Happy when he's with her. I like him, so I'm not complaining; it's just a change.

I'm craving soup so much that I've loaded up the crockpot today, when I won't be home for dinner-- so that there will be yummy leftovers for lunch tomorrow and maybe Friday. It's a big batch, but the hubby loves soup too. I wish restaurants would stop using soup base with added lactose (whey).

Music has been intense lately. I had to schedule myself to do four straight Sundays, and then there was a funeral in the middle. Good reminder of why I won't go full time! I took Monday and yesterday off (except for teaching 2 piano lessons) and am now somewhat ready to get back into things. Luckily I've got the next two Sundays off, so I can get ahead of the game a bit.

Fun new lessons. The girls are 11 and 13, but much less than two full years apart. The younger is very ADHD. She got very overwhelmed the first week, and clearly needed a quick success-- so I bought a lead-line copy of Leonard Cohen's Hallelujah for her (the kids all know it from Shrek), in a key that uses those beginner notes right around middle C. She is THRILLED. Hopefully it'll motivate her to really learn her notes this week!
