It was good to be at Lutheran today. My music went well at first service, including a lengthy Bach fantasia. During the sermon I slipped into the nearest pew to sit with 'our' baby, Lillian. She was dozing in her carrier but restless, so I rocked it or held her hand and patted it when she fussed. After my postlude I headed in for music time with the children. On my way back to the sanctuary I snared Lillian, who was now awake, and kept her with me for half an hour while I helped the contemporary group get warmed up.
Kid came up to help with the children's music, so we did a bit of shopping and had lunch before heading for home. The rest of the day was quiet-- a nap, dinner, gym.
Spent some time reading my LJ from three years ago, when I started at Lutheran. I had forgotten that it was less than 3 full days from first hearing about the job to auditioning, getting an offer and accepting the job. And I didn't realize how quickly we'd "clicked"-- I originally agreed to take the position as a part time interim organist, but within two months I told them we could forget the 'interim' part as long as I could remain part time. I am so lucky to be there!
