Christmas Day
Dec. 26th, 2017 08:41 amWe slept in, of course. Woke for breakfast (blueberry muffins) and gifts, and I think each of us napped again. After making light lunches for ourselves, hubby shovelled (about 6 inches of snow) while Laura and I neatened the house a bit.
Housework because we again held a holiday open house for friends who don't have local extended family. Irene was first, of course. Then Pastor and her visiting daughter came for an hour and taught us all to play Balderdash. During that, the Bolledus dropped off their two children, promising to return later, and we played Apples to Apples with the children. Then the parents returned-- with three dishes of homemade Indian food! So we all feasted, and then played Spinners (a dominoes variation); by the last few rounds even Vji, who has very limited English, was playing and having a wonderful time.
When the younger child began to yawn, we brought the festivies to a close; and clean up took only 15 minutes, so we were relaxed in plenty of time for the Doctor Who Christmas special (we saved the Call the Midwife special for today). It really was a lovely day!
