surprise party!
Dec. 31st, 2017 05:41 pmThe surprise was that we were hosting it!
A conversation after church apparently went like this:
Irene to David: I'm playing cards with Kat and Karen this afternoon.
David: That sounds like fun!
Irene: Great! We'll all come to your place-- how's 3:00?
This is NOT my ideal way to spend Sunday afternoon, after playing for a service. But I have to admit that I'd probably have said yes if I'd been asked. So after a quick lunch we spent an hour cleaning and decluttering. Luckily I knew no one involved would expect or want food, so I put on the teakettle and got out mugs and lots of different teas. Games were fun, and didn't go on too long.
So I guess I have leveled up to "spontaneous entertaining." What's next?
