A happy thing

2 years ago my daughter did some garden work for a friend. There was a magnificent Japanese maple in the garden; and one day we spotted a tiny red twig with three tiny red leaves, growing in a notch of the driveway. She asked the friend if she should transplant it, and friend told us we were welcome to it. After two years of coddling it's only 7 inches tall, but wow! It makes me happy.
