Serendipity
Jan. 9th, 2022 11:13 amSo my first Sunday at HUPC was cancelled due to weather... and it turned out to be wonderful!
Unfortunately I had left quite early, so was nearly to church before I got the message about cancellation. It was scarily icy, but I got safely back home, and am glad everyone else stayed safe and warm.
Worship was held via Zoom so I decided to log in. It was good to just sit and worship (and crochet) without stress, and to meet folk with no masks. Late in worship it occurred to me that I could play hammered dulcimer for them. I've learned that I always regret it if I ignore such thoughts, so I asked Pastor via private chat and he said yes. I played my little setting of Amazing Grace for them, tolerably well. When I moved away from the instrument someone saw one of Laura's quilts in the background and asked about it, so I showed them a few more of her pieces.
To cap things off, I've already received a note thanking me for the dulcimer piece :)
