Mar. 19th, 2013 03:51 pmLast night and this morning we got about 6 inches of incredibly dense, heavy snow. Seriously, if you pick up a handful, the act of scooping is enough to pack it into a semisolid lump. It took me more than an hour to clear the driveway, half shovelling, half with the snowblower. I had to stop every few minutes to clear the slush out of the snowblower.
I was just finishing up the end of the driveway when inevitably I heard a snowplow coming down the street. I rushed towards the house, and then turned to watch, smiling ruefully. I was stunned to see that the truck had slowed down, and passed my driveway at a crawl. Instead of spraying snow and slush halfway up the drive, the plow left a narrow ridge of slush, easily cleared away. The driver smiled and waved as he went on. What a gift!
