life and such stuff

kayreI’m a librarian now! Did my first day of volunteering in the church library. I processed acquisitions, recorded and filed newly checked out items, and shelved returns. My ‘boss’ is going to be a delight to work with.
The pastor came to me today and apologized for squashing plans for me to do a hymn sing for All Saints.. but he’s still squashing it. I get the feeling he’s just not sure what to do with an organist who wants to do more than just play the organ all the time. Good thing I’m getting opportunities in other areas in the church, outside of his direct control. I’m sure he’s not being vindictive; I just confuse him. (That happens a lot!)
Choir was a bit strange tonight. We always have two directors taking turns, and I sub for the pianist fairly frequently. The directors are going to be gone for two weeks, so each of us pianists is directing for a week. So in the course of the evening, all four of us directed.. and Kay and I each accompanied for each of the other directors (as well as each other). I’m glad the choir puts up with all of us!
Toying around with my NaNoWriMo outline. I have a clear beginning and ending for my novel, but am beginning to realize how incredibly much work it’s going to take to fill in the middle!
