Productive day
Nov. 6th, 2002 09:43 pmToday I:
Practiced for Sunday, and looked ahead at next week’s music
Stopped at the library; picked up lots of cool stuff
Grocery shopped
Did three loads of laundry
wrote over 2000 words of my novel
walked at the mall to strengthen my ankle
bought a special birthday present for the kidlet
cooked steak, mashed potatoes with bacon and onion, and creamed corn
conducted a choir rehearsal, much of it over music I had never heard
Wow.
I like setting a word-count goal, I find it very motivating... but my brain pretty much turns off for the day when I realize I’ve made it. I spend the rest of the day thinking about characters, outlining plot, etc., but find it very difficult to actually write any more. So, since tomorrow is a fairly open day schedule-wise, I’m going to shoot for 3000 words, to get a bit ahead of the game. (Current count is just over 12000, yay me!) I have enough different threads of plot now to feel like it’s meaty enough for a true novel.
