How I spent my birthday
Jan. 7th, 2003 11:11 pmPracticed.. music is now chosen for Sunday, and I have a seed of an idea for a prelude series during Lent
Stopped at home to ice the ankle for a while, then off to South Bend for shopping! Had to visit several stores before I cornered my first quarry, a heated mattress pad. Mom-in-law had one on the guest bed at Christmas-- so snuggly warm!
Chinese food for lunch, and then more shopping. Scored big time at JoAnn’s-- 4 yards of lightweight wool suiting, a lovely muted purple herringbone, marked down from $38.97 to $4 per yard! Pattern to make it up, half price. (Simple jacket with several rows of metallic thread topstitching, tank top with the same stitching around the neck.)
Still had half an hour to spare, so I stopped at a bookstore, and found Monica Ferris’s latest in paperback. Then off to my old church for piano lessons. To my surprise, one of my three regular students had actually practiced over the Christmas break! And her younger brother had his first lesson today, which was fun. All four students are bright, talented, enthusiastic and friendly-- and I get paid for spending time with them!
Home for more Chinese food for dinner, with hubby and the kidlet. Incredibly yummy chocolate cake later on. Nice day, all in all!
