Mar. 1st, 2003 12:26 pmI’m back!
Computer was getting nastier and nastier, turning off or even ‘losing’ extensions and other fun stuff. So Thursday I tried a “Restore in place” operation, which worked solved most but not all of the problems. This morning I bit the bullet, double-checked my backups.. and did a “erase and restore” operation. Four hours later, I’ve got all my backup files restored, Netscape 7.0.2 up and running, and most of my applications reinstalled. It’s amazing how much better I felt once I had my desktop picture (the rose in my icon) back in place.
Oh... lost all my bookmarks and email in the process. If you’ve got my email and like to hear from me occasionally, drop me a note? And can anyone point me to the “fans” page and the LJ “portal”?
In other news, Whisper was ‘very off on the right front’ this morning; hubby and kidlet are at the stable now checking things out, since I was at a ‘can’t leave it’ stage on the computer. update... she’s not limping any more... apparently it was another set of muscle spasms, possibly because she was not blanketed yesterday and got chilled. Poor horse... poor kidlet. I’m a bit ticked at the vet, since it turns out the ‘special supplement’ he ordered for her is locally available-- possibly cheaper, but more importantly, she could have been taking it a week ago.
