Long, good day
Apr. 14th, 2003 09:53 pmWhisper's farrier visit went very well. She only had her back hooves rasped, but in December that was enough to lame her for weeks. Today I took her out and trotted her afterwards. She's still on medication but I suspect we can stop that tomorrow. This is just one hurdle, but it was a big one. Now we have 4 to 6 more weeks to build her up before a full trim job.
I had to do a fair amount of driving today-- to practice, then 20 miles south to pick up meds for Whisper. I knew I'd have to head to the barn soon, so rather than go home (northwest), I headed due north and visited a few virtual geocaches until I got the phone call that the farrier had arrived. (I was really nervous, so it was nice to relax that way for a while.)
This evening Bible study was quite enjoyable-- no fundie nonsense, so I didn't stir things up much. And we let out a bit early, so hubby and I scurried out to a dark corner of the church parking lot and watched the Space Station go by overhead. (What else would we be doing in a dark corner?)
