Thrilling New Year's Eve
Dec. 31st, 2003 08:13 pmSlept in this morning.. a necessity after insomnia last night. Practiced. Planned menus and grocery shopped. (Does anyone else enjoy noting what the folk ahead of you have in their cart, and what you can deduce from the contents?)
Walked, bringing my final tally for the year, since Easter, to 465 miles. Capped off a delightful year of nature-watching with a glimpse of a pileated woodpecker-- only the second I've ever seen. No pics, unfortunately, but I'll be on the lookout for him.
Cooked a really wonderful dinner, and enjoyed it by candlelight with my family.
Listened to the Capitol Steps on NPR. Now I'll spend the evening watching TV (cirque du soleil at the moment), embroidering, appreciating responses to my poll, and chatting with any other friend who is online tonight.
Not a bad day, all in all.
