Feb. 13th, 2004 11:40 pmI'd love to hear just one politician stand up and state my position on marriage:
If marriage is a "sacred institution" then the government has no business meddling in it. No government marriage for anyone-- domestic partnerships for all. Let the government deal with legal issues like joint property, guardianship of children, etc., and leave the "sacred" aspects to religious institutions.
Since that's not a realistic possibility-- may the walls that have begun to crack, fall as quickly and completely as the Berlin Wall, and let's go dance amid the rubble.
