By late afternoon, it was 78 F and muggy here, so I decided to walk downtown, where the lake breezes cool things down a bit.
Part of my walk took me up this wheelchair ramp-- one tenth of a mile walking, about 60 feet gained in height.

Doesn't he look like he should have a pack of cigarettes rolled up in his Tshirt sleeve?

When I posted the photo meme,
saxikath asked if there was really a harbor in Benton Harbor. There is, but it's basically a wide river mouth, with three even wider areas in the first mile inland, relatively unimproved. Here's a picture of the one nearest the lake, which is now a marina.

The railroad bridge is well guarded-- a seagull on nearly every post!
