Project 365

I went back to the Shelburne Museum today, and was treated to fuzzy ducklings on one of the ponds! According to a museum worker, it was their first outing.

They can't fly yet, but have the funniest way of nearly running across the surface of the water-- they're incredibly fast.

There were ten ducklings in all, but this is the most I could get into a decent pic.

I found an early map of Vergennes in one of the buildings-- 1873. This is the earliest map I've found that shows our property broken down into city lots rather than farmland. The property divisions have changed; the names "Mrs. Ingraham" and "C.D. Keeler" lie roughly on our property lines.

I love old maps, I'm such a geek when it comes to origins of places.
