Random Fair pics
I finally spent some time wandering around the livestock barns (other than horses).

Apparently even the hay is greener on the other side of the fence.

Some animals make themselves right at home at the Fair.

Last month when I shared this pic of a miniature pony,

Last night there was a "fun show", not counting as a Fair event, with events like egg-in-spoon and dollar races (dollar bill or similar piece of paper between leg and saddle-- who can keep it there longest?). This pic is from the "catalog race"-- the contestants had to ride the length of the arena, dismount, tear out their assigned page number from the catalog, remount and take the page to the timekeeper. The young man held the horses and helped the vertically challenged remount.

Waiting between classes this morning really did seem to go on forever. (For those of you with long memories, this is Andrea, the rider who had an absolutely terrible time at her first Fair, and inspired the icon I'm using here. She has come a long way!)
