Welcome to my neighborhood.
We live on a corner. I generally walk up the hill behind the house, or turn right towards the park. Today I walked about half a mile in each of the other two directions, just for a change.

This bold house is just across the street from us. Remember the Fair Witness in Stranger in a Strange Land-- "The side of the house facing towards us is white"? At least one of the other sides of this house is plain light green.

Mt. Florona fascinates me-- the way this side of it just erupts straight out of the ground (other approaches are less steep), and its frustrating inaccessability. It's just a short walk from the road, but it's all private property, and posted "No Trespassing."

I just thought this treetop looked graceful against the incredibly bright blue sky. (Anybody know what species it is?)

First I thought, "It's just a robin." But it was so cute, hopping along the top of the snow by the edge of the road, so I gave in and focused-- and it flew, at just the right moment! (There's a "flight" category in WildBird magazine's photo contest-- think this would count?)

Walking west from the house, I pass this odd outbuilding. Why "No Trust", I wonder?
