Horses.

You can just see the plastic-bag-onna-stick behind Monty-- that's what is terrifying the horse. (Yes, lovely young Friesian.)

A few minutes later... Monty is actually rubbing the scary bag all over him, and the horse is quiet, if not perfectly calm.

This pretty palomino's owner is WAY experienced.. and said she had never cantered more than a step before being bucked off this horse. After some preliminary work, Monty strapped on "Herman from Berlin, the perfect rider"-- a dummy! He's perfect because, though his head and elbows flap comically, he never pops the horse in the mouth or with his leg. His feet are tied into the stirrups, which are tied under the horse's belly, and his hands are tied to the halter, not bridle. After Herman's turn, Monty's rider got up-- and cantered the horse several laps each direction, tapping all over with his legs and even using a soft crop. Amazing!

Aw, cute!

Aw, CUTE!

Now that's the way to get around.
