It may be just a house sparrow, but it's a large, puffy, brilliantly colored house sparrow!

sunnydale47 mentioned her squirrel-proof suet feeder, and I remembered that I had the same model. It really has cut down on the squirrel traffic, and most of the birds are fine with it. Here's a downy woodpecker having a snack.
