I think this is a female indigo bunting, or possible a female blue grosbeak. Either would be a lifebird for me. edit-- someone on birdlovers suggests female brownheaded cowbird, and I think that's correct.

I think this is a song sparrow. Ironically enough, even though it's obviously singing, I was concentrating on pics and didn't catch the song for an ID. edit-- same person suggests savannah sparrow, which was another possibility I considered, and would be a lifebird.
