I ended up walking at Kingsland Bay today. The early spring wildflowers are out, like this lovely white trillium.

Another trillium, artfully posed by a mossy stump.

These lovely things are locally called trout lilies. For some reason they are known as dogtooth violets in some areas.

White-throated sparrow.

This evening the kidlet and I walked around the back yard. I commented that we hadn't had any beaver visits this spring. Moments later she said "there's one! and another!" They each slapped at us once, but continued to swim around calmly.
