I love the way nature recycles, like all these plants sprouting from a mossy old stump.



Today's trail took me through a livestock field, so I had to climb stiles in and out. A sign said "Please don't bother the guard dog or sheep. He will bark but won't bother you." Unfortunately I saw no sign of sheep, barking or not.



Maybe you'll understand that the "jack" in "jack-in-the-pulpit" is a euphemism?
