Why did the ruffed grouse cross the road? To pose for me, of course!





It's my second sighting of a grouse, but the first was an immature; this is an adult male.



He was amazingly relaxed-- stood beside the road while I stopped and got out of my car, and while a pickup truck passed by, then walked calmly across. Once in the grass he flew/hopped into the trees.



This is a juvenile ring-billed gull-- common, but happens to be the best pic I've gotten of a juvenile.
