Leftover pics

I visited the Vermont Quilt Show last weekend, and never got around to posting pics. I discovered a particular design trick that appeals to me-- traditional patchwork with a twist. Here the round medallions are irregularly scattered, sometimes incomplete or overlapping.

Then there's this graphic heron with a background of traditional piecework.

Or this sunset, where the sun is a traditional starburst pattern but the rest is graphic.

Some were just amazing, like this 3-D Little Red Riding Hood. It's three layers deep-- trees on the front, the girl and various critters on a middle layer, and the house in the background.

And this pixellated dog, made of 1/2 inch squares of solid color fabrics.
