Up early again, even had time to make a wrap and add it to our cooler.

Speaking of cooler-- it was actually cool in the morning, and barely topped 80F! As I walked to our stall I heard a teenage girl exclaim "I'm cold!" I laughed and said "Isn't it wonderful?" She and her friend both laughed and agreed that cold is better than hot!

Felicity was very fresh again in her first classes, and placed in the lower parts of the class. I think in future she probably needs 30 minutes of exercise in the morning, or possibly a long evening workout the night before. After that, though, we once again were able to get her harnessed quickly and calmly, and she drove quite nicely. When we went down to do the driving obstacle course, we were the only people there. Laura took the chance to ask a couple of questions, and learned that in obstacle it's legal to step out of the wagon and lead the horse-- in regular driving that's a disqualification. She only stepped out to reach the mailbox, but it was nice to know about the option. When we finished, there was still no line, so the judge allowed Laura and Felicity to practice on the course for a few minutes. And we got unharnessed again without any trouble. Calm harnessing and unharnessing makes for a successful show regardless of ribbons!

However, they had one last class-- "Trail In Hand", where Laura leads Felicity, on foot, through various challenges. And they capped off the weekend by winning! Even better, another mini owner admired Felicity's side pass skills, and asked Laura for training advice.

Watched a bit more of the show, then packed up, hitched up and headed home. Felicity was in her paddock by 3:30 and we were home by 4:00, and even had energy to cook dinner, complete with actual vegetables!
