spooky

Just in time for Halloween, one of the spookiest gravestones I've seen. There were two of these, both for siblings who died within days of each other (not the same year, though, so not an epidemic). Those little faces creep me out!

friends

I like the shape of this stone, the way it leans, the moss... it's for two young men who drowned on the same day, probably close friends.

brick and stucco

Love this little house of brick and stucco.

Goldfinch

Bright-eyed goldfinch at my feeder.

Ye gods, I love that tablet stone! And it's a complete throwback--with that style of soul-effigy, I'd expect a death date in the early 1700s, not 1803.

And how did they do that with the house? It looks like a mud-dauber wasp sort of effect applied over the brickwork.
