I finally saw the beaver in Beaver Pond! Both of them, actually, but one was camera-shy.



A few weeks ago, beginning work on the rock garden, we inadvertently disturbed a wren trying to nest in the birdhouse. I'm delighted to see one trying again today, and am postponing garden work at least until evening to let her settle in. Such beautiful bird song in my garden all summer long, not to mention baby birds!

I like those little budding antlers! And I'm glad the wren decided to nest there. They've got such a loud song for such a tiny bird.
