Possibly my best pic ever of a belted kingfisher.





And here's a nice one of a green backed heron.

Eastern swallowtail butterfly. Easy to see how the orange spots could be briefly convincing eyes!



This is a terrible pic, but it is just enough to confirm that the deer I saw was a young male, a "button buck"-- which confirms my suspicion that the sound I heard afterwards was a juvenile attempt at a 'roar.' (Google it, it's cool!)

Our Western Swallowtails are mostly yellow, and I don't think they have the blue. Still awesome to watch them dance by.
