Three things happened yesterday. This area had its first confirmed Covid-19 cases. Family Promise realized the program of changing locations weekly was no longer viable, and all guests will be sleeping in the Day House. My church held an emergency task force meeting (electronically) and opted to cancel all in-person gatherings, including worship this weekend.

So, last night I was part of that meeting. Today I spent six hours on tasks like notifying Family Promise volunteers, delivering Family Promise food and belongings from church to Day House, calling church members, and more. I'm exhausted.

Tomorrow will be more of the same, plus helping prepare some sort of video worship. I believe I'll be doing a children's time; not sure if we'll attempt to record any music because of licensing issues and recording quality issues. We also are helping cook dinner tomorrow, along with the Congolese woman who was the first guest years ago. She is excited to cook for the African family.

I don't like making phone calls, but a couple of the people I talked to were very much in need of reassurance and a chance to talk; that was satisfying.

Just a thought, can you guys do an online service? It's a thought. You could do voice meetings on Discord or over Skype. Just a thought.

For next week we hope to livestream. This week, with only 48 hours to prepare, we opted to pre-record, and I'm pretty pleased with the results. I played piano and did the children's time. My daughter did the video editing, and ran the camera for all the church scenes.
