2) me getting a tooth pulled
The first is probably self-explanatory. The second-- I woke up yesterday with a sore and swollen spot on my gums and a profound headache. I recognized this from past experience as very possibly an abscess on a tooth, and realized that if that was the case I'd be feverish by Monday and that would hugely complicate matters.
My dentist was actually supposed to be on vacation right now, but that had been cancelled, and he returned my call to the emergency number. By midafternoon we found out that I was right. It was a molar, previously capped, now entirely dead and infected. We are right in the heart of the biggest COVID-19 outbreak, so a root canal (entailing at least 3 more office visits) didn't make sense; not sure I would have gone that route anyway. So-- the tooth is out. I don't feel great today, but not terrible either. Kind of glad I didn't have to play for worship, as it's not impossible that my jaw would be sensitive to bass sound waves.
But I am in some pain, and the kid being miserable at the same time isn't making life easy today.
