So, how's it going?
Jun. 19th, 2021 08:38 pmMost importantly, I'm still at my church, and on a far better footing now. "My" elders, and Session (Board of Elders) in general have given me very strong support. D is still behaving like a child but lines have been drawn that he knows he cannot cross. Pastor also knows that she is not a part of that situation any more.. and frankly, I am watching her slowly lose her ability to function as a pastor at all, and am not sure how that will end.
Meanwhile, I've got my very happy and fun handbell ringers, and a small Bible study group. We've also started opening to a few people, which dilute's D's glaring at me. And at the moment I've got two Sundays off. Unfortunately I've got a memorial service next Saturday which will necessarily mean quite a bit of interaction with D.
I'm still playing my hammered dulcimer, and am now trying to get my guitar fingers back. A beloved member who loves to sing and play is slipping into dementia; he still wants to sing but is well aware that he can't quite manage both any more.
