Yesterday my friend Irene moved into a senior living center; and as we agreed a few months ago, her movers brought her cute little spinet piano to me. I've never actually owned a piano! For a while I had an electronic organ, but it was never as satisfying to play as the church organs to which I had access, so I gave it away. I did pick up a good electronic keyboard, which I have just donated. I'm really pleased and touched by the gift.

Early this morning I got a text: "I need your help. I fell last night and have broken my right wrist/hand. Please find out where there's an urgent care center. Thank you!" It was Irene, who had been exhausted and in an unfamiliar place, and tripped over something late at night. I found the information and offered to drive, and spent three hours there with her. It is indeed broken, and she's in a splint for a week, and will get a cast next week. Her daughter is here for a few more days and will get her well settled in her new apartment. (Daughter was very grateful to leave the medical stuff to me while she dealt with unpacking.)

So glad you could be there for Irene! How scary it must have been for her.

And hooray for piano!!!

That must have been very distressing for Irene. A fall is bad enough, but in a new place on top of that compounds the stress. I'm glad you were there for her and that her daughter is there.
