Good omens, I hope
Jan. 6th, 2022 07:50 amI've served many churches where it was a scramble to get bulletin information from the pastor before the admin went home on Friday. During my time at DPC we moved that forward, and generally had a complete bulletin on Thursday.
This week I received a nearly complete bulletin draft before noon on Tuesday, and that appears to be Pastor's habit! That's almost scary!
The amazing bit, though, is that it includes a commissioning service for me! I have watched congregations install or commission pastors, elders, deacons, committee heads, education directors, Sunday school teachers and nursery workers- and have never once been commissioned in that way myself. To begin by being recognized as a person in ministry rather than just an employee feels quite encouraging.
