Moving forward
Apr. 12th, 2022 03:12 pmWhen I left the hospital, they of course indicated I needed followup care for the broken ankle, and also a check in 2 weeks to make sure the infection is really gone. My regular doctor called to arrange for those things-- and were told first available appointment was in the middle of May! So they told me to go to the orthopedist's Urgent Care when the 2 week check was due.
I did that today, and immediately got moved from the Urgent Care area to the regular patient side. So now I have assurance that there is no sign of infection, that I am doing the right stuff for the ankle-- and I somehow have an appointment with a foot and ankle specialist next week.
This makes me feel a bit more in control as I try to get through Holy Week-- but still quite overwhelmed, because I have so little energy. I truly do have to budget my "spoons" very strictly, and count on hubby and kidlet to pick up slack because I simply can't, for example, teach, grocery shop and practice all on the same day.
Funny moment today: a young PA 5 feet from me asking which ankle is hurt-- when I'm wearing a giant walking support boot on one leg. He did immediately realize and laugh.
