Here we go again

So, three doctors blew off my concern that my foot was reinfected (or still infected). Third even questioned whether I had an infection in the first place. Fourth, a week later... told me to go home, back up and head for the ER again.

I'm on a regular care floor this time, since other than my foot looking like a ham I basically am not sick. Much more comfortable and relaxed-- fewer tests, freedom to move around. However today they drained an abscess from the foot so now I'm not mobile again.

The foot's in definite trouble. Direst possibilities are very dire. However, as of tonight I'm on targeted antibiotics rather than broad spectrum, and that plus the drainage has ever chance of doing good things.

And I've had two more angel-caretakers, and one of rhem is my day shift tech again tomorrow. Also discovered the alternative food menu, which makes life more tolerable.

Ugh this is awful. I wish you didn't have to deal with doctors who think they know better than the patient. Sending good thoughts!

What is the alternative food menu?

Mostly food service shows up, tells you what the two cafeteria-style meals are, and that's that. I actually acquired a print menu, and it turns out that there's a whole column of "always available" foods from which one can order within one's dietary bounds. It gives me a lot more scope, especially since often I'm allergic to one of the two main options.

That is awful. 3 doctors ignoring your statements. Make a stink about it. That is exactly why it took me an extra year to get my knee surgery.

I really only blame the third-- but he screwed up big time, and I will follow up on that.

So scary that *so many* doctors can blow off a concern like that when in fact you were absolutely right.

I truly hope that things can heal up without the direst options.

Oh my. That sounds terrible. I hope the targeted antibiotics make a difference, and that -- when you're up for it -- you can find some way to make an effective complaint.

Angel-caretakers are good, though! And yay for finding food you can eat.
